The river Gay Film Festival is the LGBT international film festival of fiction, documentary and experimental, in long and short films, Brazilians and foreigners. The 2013 Edition, which occupies the Odeon, the Federal Justice Cultural Cinema and Instituto Cervantes between 05 and July 14, brings 8 feature films and short 43.
The first film in the history of film to deal directly with homosexuality was Anders als die Andem (1919), where a man meets a boy in a dance, takes him home and caresses (briefly) the chest (fully clothed). It was all, but enough: the taboo on showing sexual contact between men had been broken, at least by the Overture. In Rio Gay Film Festival the kiss is the bully of creeps.
