Copacabana
Copacabana is one of the internationally best-known Brazilian neighborhoods – as well as Beachits beautiful. Copacabana receives tourists from all over the world interested in knowing the lifestyle of the wonderful city.
The neighbourhood – situated in the South zone of Rio de Janeiro – bordered the Lagoa, Ipanema, Botafogo and Rudder.
The beach is the center of life in the neighborhood. Is where the concerts, rallies, festivals, sporting events. It is where people walk, practise sports and find friends.
Many of the best hotels, bars, restaurants and nightclubs of the city are in Copacabana, in view of the tourist vocation of the neighborhood. The trade of the neighborhood is very good – there is nothing that is not in Copacabana – and also the service sector.
The neighborhood was the subject of many songs and poems; and served as a scenario many movies. The song was composed by Braguinha, in 1944, and gave the Copacabana the nickname that maintains until today: Princess of the sea.
For a long time, Copacabana was housing the city's economic and cultural elite. Today, the neighborhood still carries the glamour of their golden years – with their roofs and hotels by the sea, and its bustling nightlife and dining – but is admittedly a subdivision of tourist vocation.
