President of Brazil

Afonso Augusto Moreira Pena (1847-1909) was President of Brazil from 1906 until his death in 1909. His successor was the vice President, Nilo Peçanha.

Description

Praça Afonso Pena

Castilho França,  Square more Afonso Pena, known as Plaza is a place of leisure for all ages. Around, the bike path is used for the practice of exercises at any time of day as well as the multi-purpose Court, in the center of the square.

In the mornings, classroom has Tai Chi Chuanof. On weekends, in addition to the fixed toys, such as slide, seesaw and balance, the Plaza is equipped with pula pula and electric carts, turning into a nice place to stroll with children.

The area rich in bars and restaurants is busy at night. Inside the square, this is the time that young people and adolescents in the region are to talk.

The Afonso Pena subway station empties into the site.

The square is named in honor of President Afonso Pena. Miner, Afonso Pena was born on November 30, 1847.
